A pet health certificate in Dubai is the document a licensed vet signs to say your animal was examined, is fit to fly, and carries the vaccinations and treatments the destination country demands. It is the piece almost every owner leaves too late, because the certificate itself takes an appointment — but the things it certifies take weeks.

We say so plainly because owners lose weeks assuming a clinic handles the whole move. The examination that a certificate rests on is our standard consultation at AED 120. The AED 199 first vaccination package already includes the microchip and passport, and the AED 199 annual package includes the rabies vaccine and certificate — so for most pets already under our care, the travel file is mostly paperwork rather than new charges. The order matters more than the speed. Every step below has a date attached that somebody else set.
Every country publishes its own list, and they differ on rabies timing, parasite treatments and blood tests. Send it to us on WhatsApp before the appointment and we will read it against your pet's record.
The chip is the reference number every other document is filed under. If it cannot be read, or the number on file does not match, nothing after this step is valid.
Not just 'in date' — many destinations require the vaccine to have been given a set number of days before arrival, and some require it after the microchip. This is where timelines break.
Some destinations require a titre test or specific parasite treatments given inside a narrow window before the flight. Those dates are set by the destination, not by us.
Usually required close to the travel date. The vet examines the animal and records that it shows no sign of infectious disease and is fit to travel.
You take the signed certificate; we keep the digital copy, so a lost document is a phone call rather than a repeat appointment.

We do the veterinary documents they will ask you for. Owners who treat the two as one service are the ones who run out of time, so it is better said now than a week before the flight.
Dubai moves more pets across borders than almost any city its size, and the local pattern creates its own failure modes.
People leave the UAE permanently and on a company timeline. The flight date is often fixed before anyone asks what the destination requires of the animal.
The UK, the EU, India, Australia and the United States each set different rules, and a friend's experience moving to one is no guide to another.
If the booster was missed, some destinations treat it as a first vaccination and count the waiting period again from that date.
Heat embargoes and breed restrictions narrow the window in the hottest months, which compresses the veterinary timeline at the same time.
Name, chip number and dates have to match across the passport, the vaccination record and the certificate. A single mismatch is enough to stop a file.
A street rescue or a rehomed animal frequently has no verifiable history, so the record has to be rebuilt from scratch — and that takes time nobody budgeted.
The honest answer is earlier than feels necessary, because the parts you cannot rush are the ones set by other people. Below is the pattern we see most often — but the destination's own list always wins over any general rule, including this one.

What we can tell you is the veterinary side that applies whichever airline you choose: the cat needs a readable microchip, an in-date rabies vaccination, whatever treatments and tests the destination country demands, and a health certificate signed close to the travel date. Those requirements come from the destination, not the carrier.
