Not on ground other dogs use — in Dubai that means keeping him off dog parks, communal grass and the sand around the villas until the course is finished. Carrying him is fine, and so is a private garden or balcony that unvaccinated dogs never reach. The caution is worth it: parvovirus survives in sand and soil for months, and a puppy who picks it up here usually ends up hospitalized.
It is uncommon, but it happens. The antibodies a puppy inherits from his mother can block a vaccine from taking properly, and they fade at a slightly different time in every litter — so a dose given while they are still active does less than it should. That is why the final dose of the series is the one that counts, and why we do not treat a puppy as covered until the veterinarian says the course is complete.
Yes — a puppy that age is normally either ready to start his course or already partway through it. What we will not do is hand you a fixed week-by-week chart on a webpage, because the right starting point depends on his weight, his health on the day and what his breeder or shelter gave him. Bring him in with whatever paperwork exists and we will set the dates properly.
There is a gap between the last injection and full cover, and the veterinarian will give you the figure for your own puppy at the visit. The more useful date in Dubai is usually the one boarding kennels, daycare and groomers ask for: most want the course finished rather than started, plus kennel cough cover if he is staying overnight. If a stay or a flight is already booked, say so at the first appointment and we will work the timing backwards from it.
